Out of the Earth – Green Door Artists

All life starts in the earth; it ends here too. Time continually carves itself into the strata: rocks tell of millennia spent in flux, mud upon ancient mud speaks of storms and droughts, bones of animals and kin, pottery shards, and crumbling structures lay preserved, cradled by dirt. Out of the Earth comes all things. This exhibition is an artists’ response to the dynamic worlds that lay hidden within it.

Green Door Artists are a self-managed, not-for-profit artists’ co-operative, committed to bringing artists together and making contemporary art accessible to local residents and visitors to the area.    Our membership is made up of artists working across all art forms and we have more than 100 members from around Cumbria and North Lancashire.
