Stuart Wilkie – Printmaker

My name is Stuart Wilkie and I am an artist and printmaker with an open studio at Farfield Mill Sedbergh. I have a longstanding interest in relief printmaking using lino and wood engraving. In December 2020 I took up residence at Farfield Mill and have been focusing my attention on printing making. I draw my inspiration from the natural world. My smaller relief prints are wood engravings created by carving the printing block on the end grain of boxwood or lemonwood. Lino printing enables the creation of larger, bolder images. My studio is open from Wednesday to Sunday and is open to any one wishing to visit the Farfield Mill in Sedbergh. I am happy to discuss my work and the techniques involved as well as watching printing in action using my wonderful 1868 Albion Press.
