Katriona Field – Whiteside Woven
I spend much of my time thinking about fibre, patterns and colour. I love walking on the fells by rippling tarns and rivers and enjoying beautiful skyscapes. My heart is also drawn to the Hebrides and their enchanting seascapes.
Back at my loom, I try to capture these interesting shades and textures in my weaving.
It is important that the materials I use are as sustainable as possible and I often combine British wool with end of line yarn, and use ‘deadstock’ fabric that was saved from landfill. I am keen to support local producers and aim to use 100% British wool.
