Stuart Gray – Artist

Stuart’s career as an artist has taken many directions, beginning with four years at art college, working for twenty plus years in several design studios and finally spending the latter half of his career as an art lecturer.

He finally joined his partner Ruth Clayton and has been steadily developing his paintings ever since. Working primarily in acrylic paint and concentrating on combining birds with still life, his work is developing into a style which is becoming instantly recognisable. Stuart’s love for Dutch art is also combined into his paintings and the resulting pictures find softly lit native birds sitting quietly among everyday objects with dark backgrounds that highlight the light and shadow.
