Dave Sharps
I am a retired secondary art teacher. I taught art for over 30 years but now have the time and space to develop my own work. I have my own purpose-built studio in my garden in Natland.
My work is inspired by the beautiful landscape of Cumbria. Through paint, mixed media, and printmaking I explore the experience of being on the fells, of walking in the valleys and along the coast. I use colour and texture to represent the changing and dynamic weather and light conditions. I work mainly from sketches and my own photographs of the landscape. The style of my work ranges from representational to abstract.
