Signs of the Times – Christine Sawyer UK
In 2020 when normal life was uprooted, Christine embarked on a series of spontaneous drawings: without plan or expectation of outcome, in response to feelings of disruption, chaos and loss of certainties. Working in pen and watercolour, ideas were just allowed to flow freely.
From this extemporised approach two images were chosen to develop into tapestry diptych. They may seem confrontational, but they represent her confusion and anger about the unresolved issues of current times.
