“Shreds of History” by Beata Calluna Poland
Made from: linen fabric / front and back/, cotton and polyester battings, polyester threads, leather belt, crumbs of amber.
Techniques: burning, colouring with Inktense Blocks by Derwent, free motion quilting, hand sewing. Embellished with spiral shapes made from the leather belt / driving belt from an old sewing machine/ and crumbs of amber.
All kind of materials I used in this quilt / apart from battings and polyester sewing thread of course/ were used by the people living here, in my area, thousands of years ago, as well as spiral shapes for embellishing pottery, jewellery, weapons etc.
