“Peak Memories” by Alison Vosahlo France
My first impressions from the image I was given were of gloom and ruin but looking harder I could see some light, then fields and hills and a ruined castle. As I looked and thought more, images of where I lived as a girl on the edge of the Peak District came to mind. These memories and mental images were then the inspiration for my interpretation – dark, high peaks, moorland heather, sheep, Peveril Castle, Dovedale, Edendale, the Pennine trail… From these grew my first landscape quilt “Peak Memories”
