Magical World of Underwater Wonders – Ethelda Ellis

I never lived near the ocean or dived into its depths, but I’ve walked the beaches of Cape Town on vacation. The Oscar winning documentary “My Octopus Teacher” (2021) revealed a magical world in those same waters that captivated me. Filmmaker Craig Foster had a profound experience diving and photographing an octopus. I was delighted to get his permission to use the movie as inspiration. I dedicate the quilt to him for raising awareness about the importance of preserving kelp forests.
