Louise Martin – Winter Loch
Louise’s experiences find natural expression in the structure and techniques of weave, which she freely adapts and reinvents. Winter Loch -land in the stillness of sleep. The green of summer washed down by rain and salt wind to form a winter loch.
Landscape and travel inform Louise’s pieces. Over the past 30 years she has produced work that is a response to the countries she has lived and travelled in. Clearing her mind, opening her senses, and allowing the surroundings to shape the result. These experiences find natural expression in the structure and techniques of weave.
Here, the three forms are continuously warped with yarn colours observed from the landscape.
