Liberty felt – Fiona Whyte

Liberty is a trapeze artist, a symbol of joy, freedom and confidence. As a child watching these airborne artists left me in awe. The figure rests artfully poised on a trapeze ready to undertake a sequence of brave beautiful flight and dance. Since I started working with fibres, particularly wool, I enjoy the immense freedom that felting gives me. It is versatile and forgiving and can be sculpted much like clay.
