Kati Paakki – My River, My Life
One day, some 40 odd years ago, as we walked along the banks of the river Colne my husband told me that when he was a child in the 60s the local rivers used to turn into a multitude of colours as the mills of West Yorkshire discharged their used dyes into the watercourses. As we walked, I imagined the colours on the water and the effect this colourful pollution had on nature.
Never did I think that decades later it would inspire me to weave a tapestry.
