“Bring Me Sunset in a Cup” by Elina Lusis-Grinberga Latvia
Upon receiving the image of Mari Ohenoja-Miettinen’s quilt “Lost at the Stormy Sea” my thoughts were carried away by the memories of spending time at the seaside. The most breath-taking were the sunsets, and each of them was so unique in splendour. Those reflections brought back another significant event to my mind, namely, a renowned Latvian composer wrote an amazing song “Bring Me Sunset in a Cup” for my daughters (soprano and cello) performing in a chamber ensemble “Vocello”. That triggered and inspired the composition of my quilt “Bring Me Sunset in a Cup”.
