Bird in the Bush – Jenny Waller

Bird in the Bush references the ceramic stacks of shapes and animal forms often designed for gardens. It uses different textures of wools and wire to reflect the different textures of the leaves and stems of the bush. The flowers are from the same skein of variegated wool which beautifully captures the subtle combination of similarity and variation in nature’s colours. The bird is made of felted wool with wings from a vintage wool tapestry, wired using stumpwork techniques. Bird in the Bush celebrates the energy and casual beauty of the natural world, profligate in both colour and form.
