A favourite walk through woodland at my happy place of Hardcastle Crags in Calderdale is the inspiration for “Autumn Glory”. I walk in this area through every season of the year and each season has it’s beauty, but I always am enchanted by the colours and textures of Autumn. As I walk through my happy place the rustling sound of the fallen leaves beneath my feet heralds the beginning of their decay. The sunlight peeping through the trees illuminates the woodland floor with colours almost jewel like. The many different types of leaves, fallen acorns and twigs adorn the floor and I am dazzled by the variety and beauty of nature’s spectacle. I stop regularly to collect a pretty leaf, a fallen acorn or some interesting twigs. This moment in the wonderful season of Autumn comes and quickly passes each year and I wanted to capture the colours and textures as a lasting reminder of its majesty.
