Farfield Mill originally used fleeces produced by local farmers to make woollen yarn, some of which was used to weave blankets. Some was sold as knitting wool to surrounding areas. Different quality fleeces were used for different purposes.
In my exhibition work, I wanted to extend this idea by using mainly woollen fabrics and thread to create quirky pieces which reflect those different uses to which their fleeces were put, by showing them on the backs of sheep in the fields.
