The Alchemists Dream – Margaret Jones UK
Paracelsus said of alchemists:
“You will transmute nothing if you have not first transmuted yourself.”
Carl Jung also believed alchemical work should be viewed from this perspective, that transmutation was not the changing of physical matter, but of psychological matter.
We are in the 21st Century and we can truly turn base elements into gold, but we suffer from unprecedented rates of metal illness, we seek self-help and practice mindfulness as we attempt to transmute ourselves. Tapestry is one of the slow crafts that many currently seek; when we sit before a loom or frame, time slows, there is nothing but the beating down. Exactly as it would have been hundreds of years ago but with better lighting.
