Shirley Ross – Blue Illusion
Dewsbury-based Shirley Ross barely needs to make any further contribution to the textile heritage of the North – she has become an integral part of that heritage. Shirley has previously written that she relishes the challenges of creating tonal variety and 3D works, undefined by loom size.
A founder member of the British Tapestry Group, and a distinguished exhibiting member of Leeds Fine Artists, Shirley finds inspiration in the forms and colours around her, which she distils into vibrant, impressionistic rhythms in the warp and weft of tapestry.
