“Riche de mes origines” depicts a Reunionese woman draped in a flamboyant lava bustier, against a backdrop of intertwined hands. Through her hair, she portrays elements emblematic of the island’s multicultural make-up, which is at the origin of its “vivre-ensemble”. Over the years, European, African, Madagascan, Indian and Chinese communities have arrived on Reunion Island, a small island in the Indian Ocean, creating a mixed-race society. This wealth of origins is reflected in our culture, our gastronomy, our language, our music and, of course, in our genes and our spirit.
