Quo Vadis

This work was inspired by the sculptures on the Easter Islands. The native tribe that originally inhabited the island went extinct, while the sculptures of the giant heads still face the ocean as a plea for help. My work represents a symbol of our globally connected tribe. By changing the climate, destroying natural habitats, and exhausting limited resources, we are heading towards our doom. In pursuing self-indulgence, we too, may be facing self-destruction. In the future, our smartphones – a symbol of our times – may become sculptures of our demise.
