Patricia Shone

I live and work on the Isle of Skye, in the North West of Scotland. I have always preferred wilder, more challenging landscapes and seascapes. The visible presence of the rock beneath the thin soils of the Highlands reminds me of the real substance of life, below the thin veneer. I see the textures of my work on a massive scale in the mountains and the shore, and it is fundamentally the same material that I am working with. Inspiration is all around me, under my feet and in my hands.
