My Pacific – Julie Reuben

A photograph of the Pacific Ocean taken from an airplane inspired this quilt. The Pacific is close to my heart. I grew up in an unhappy and stressful home but spending time near and in the ocean brought calm and joy. Working on this quilt felt like being in the ocean; I would get disoriented if I couldn’t see the edges. I live far from the Pacific now, but it will always be my first ocean love.
