L’Humain a-t-il Evolue? – Marie Eugenia Corbella – Spain
In my quilts I want to reflect my interest in nature and specially in endangered species. In this quilt I present you Manuela, a chimpanzee I rescued after her parents died of poisoning. In the sanctuary she learned American sign language (ASL) and that’s how she communicates with humans. After knowing the stories behind this rescued primate, I symbolically adopted one of Manuela’s friends: Ivan. As a biologist and a quilter, I try to raise awareness about taking care of the environment.
