Katrine West (UK) – Duddingston
My tapestry is based on the view from a small nature reserve on the south side of Duddingston Loch in Edinburgh. At the end where the loch narrows, this view looks over the water to the old village of Duddingston and beyond to the hill of Arthur’s Seat. It is close to where I live and has been a quiet place to go during the pandemic. Although in the centre of the city, it is very peaceful here watching the water and listening to the birds.
