Julie Livesey – Willow Weaving

I am a weaver based in Lancashire and make willow baskets and sculptures and grow willow without using chemicals. I make and create using natural materials and in the process immerse myself in nature and am inspired by all the flora and fauna I see and experience around me and how everything interacts with one another. From the seasonality, the growing, harvesting, foraging, processing materials to the observation and inspiration nature gives you, and to the beauty, diversity, uses and functions of basketry that you can make. Nature nourishes and my work is a part of nature.
