Beginnings of a Storm – Françoise Grall
Coming from Brittany, the ocean has always fascinated me, both for its changing colours in harmony with the clouds, and for the magnificent spectacle it offers us, whatever the weather. I used nature’s palette of colours, ranging from intense blues to various greens (glaz in Breton). I wanted to show the power of the waves that mercilessly attack the lighthouses that protect us.
Glaz – the Breton word that describes the indefinable colour of the sea in Brittany, a blend between blue, green, and grey.
