Mandy Dorman – Ceramics

Mandy Dorman is a painter and potter who creates work from her studio in Ambleside, in the heart of the Lake District.

She uses her painting skills to decorate the work she creates in clay. Her designs are inspired by the world around her and often feature local scenes and flora and fauna.

Mandy’s smoke-fired ceramics are created by combustibles being added during the firing process. The trapped carbon and smoke gets captured in the clay and these patterns are unique to each individual piece.
