Lin Squires – Verve

Lin Squires – Verve

In her woven practice over the last few years Lin has been exploring the world of microorganisms, primarily fungi. Fascinated by the complexity of their lives and the apparent simplicity of their bodies, she has increasingly found that these strange life forms hold many metaphors for our own complex human lives.

Verve – a noun – where in nature do we see real verve? Verve vibrates and sizzles in natural forms, textures and colours. Inspired by nature and re-imagined in the woven form here is my poem on verve.
