“All about Patterns” weaving workshop with Jan Beadle

Monday 5th February 2018

Come and enjoy a day of weaving on a 4 shaft table loom. Whether you’re a beginner or already a weaver this will be a lovely opportunity to take the mystery out of pattern reading. There’ll be lots of colours and textures to experiment with on the day. Looms will be set up and ready to go, £5 charge on the day for all yarns.

“Double Weave” weaving workshop with Jan Beadle

Learn how to weave two layers of fabric at the same time, create tubes pockets and double width fabric on a 4 shaft table loom. Beginners welcome but if you already weave this will cover all the technical info you need to know. Looms will be set up and ready to go, £5 charge on the day for all yarns

“Become a Weaver” weaving workshop with Jan Beadle

Tues-Wed/22nd-23rd May 2018

If you know the basics, maybe set up your own loom and woven some patterns, or have never done any weaving before and would love to have ago this is the course for you!

The 2-day course will take you through the whole process of winding a warp and dressing a loom to weaving your cloth, Jan will provide you with all the tips, tricks and techniques to ease your path into weaving.

KEY INFORMATION

Duration  Workshops run 10.30am to 4.30pm - and you can usually gain access to set up from 10.15am.

Location  Workshops are held in our dedicated Education Room on Level 2, or in the Bainside Studio on Level 4.

Lunch  You can buy a delicious lunch made on the premises using local produce in Weavers Café (with viewing window into the Weaving Room). Alternatively, you can bring a packed lunch to eat in the workshop room (we would ask you not to eat your packed lunch in the Café, please).

Drinks  Fresh coffee and tea is available for you to make throughout the day in the kitchen adjacent to your workshop space.

Accommodation  If you are staying over, there are many delightful B&Bs and guest houses in Sedbergh and the surrounding area - contact Sedbergh Tourist Information Centre online or call 015396 20125.
