Just Giving Appeal to help safeguard Farfield Mill’s future
It is 25 years since the Mill was rescued from destruction and turned into a thriving community of crafts people and artists including weavers, painters, quilters and jewellers. There are now 24 separate artists and craft studios where you can watch the artists and weavers working. The mills has two operational looms, together with demonstrations of hand weaving and several large galleries with ever changing artists exhibitions.
The Mill Trustees recently announced plans to invite the community to help protect its long-term future by the launch of a ‘community share’ offer, which is anticipated in April 2018. In the meantime, Farfield Mill needs £25,000 to carry out essential repairs and ensure it can carry on.
We have taken its fund-raising to the wider arts and creative community on the Internet, through the well-known Just Giving site. If this appeal is successful, it will ensure a bright future for this much valued community and leisure attraction.
