Farfield Mill

Dorte-Lis Stephenson

As a patchwork quilter I draw my inspiration largely from shapes and patterns gernerated by mathematics.

It began in the early nineties when my professional work in mathematics was drawing to a close. As I have gone along I have developed an interest in using recycled materials, especially those that have a “history”.

My Scandinavian origins have given me a strong background in handicrafts and design, and I am uncompromising about the standard of my workmanship. I only do handquilting, hence it takes a long time to produce a quilt of any size.

I am open to negotiated commissions.
